Governing Law

Your use of this website and any purchase by you of any item shall be governed by Ecuadorean law, and you hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Ecuadorean courts.

Eligibility to Purchase

The purchase of merchandise through Ecua-Andino Hats is strictly limited to parties who can lawfully enter into and form contracts. The site is only available to individuals who have been issued a valid credit/debit card by a bank acceptable to us and who have authorized Ecua-Andino Hats to process a charge or charges on their credit/debit card in the amount of the total purchase price for the merchandise they have purchased. By making an offer to purchase, the individual must be 18 years of age or older. If under 18 years of age, they must have parent/guardian authorization to use their credit/debit card.

Pricing

Prices shown on the site are in United States Dollars (USD) and are exclusive of taxes. If you are a customer whose credit/debit card is not denominated in USD, the final price will be calculated in accordance with the applicable exchange rate on the day your card issuer processes the transaction.

Shipping

All orders are shipped using Fedex, UPS or DHL express service. Once your order is shipped, we will provide you with a tracking number. Import duty or tax costs will be invoiced to you directly. We recommend you contact your local customs authority to determine a landed cost price prior to completing your purchase. The merchandise is insured with Fedex, UPS, or DHL during the transit time until the goods are delivered to the specific address of the customer, at which point responsibility for the purchased goods passes to you. If your order will not be delivered within the timeframe specified at ordering, we will notify you and try to rectify the situation as quickly as possible.

Additional Information for USA clients:

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) requires documentation that identifies the ultimate consignee—the person or business in the U.S. who will receive the shipment. To verify this, CBP mandates an IRS-issued number:

  • EIN (Employer Identification Number): for businesses.

  • SSN (Social Security Number): for individuals.

Without this IRS number provided at the time of entry, the shipment will be denied entry into the U.S.

Returns and Exchanges

All sales are final. There are no returns, exchanges, or in-store credits.

Payment

All payments will be processed with Shopify. Shopify charges a commission for each transaction. This cost will not be reflected on your invoice; it will be subtracted from the invoiced amount to the customer. All credit/debit card holders are subject to validation checks and authorization by the card issuer. If the issuer of the payment card refuses, or subsequently refuses to, or does not, for any reason, authorize payment to us, we will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery.

Privacy Policy

We will treat all your personal details as confidential.

Frequent Questions:

𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗺:

All of our classic hats are handmade and have a brim size of approximately 6–7 cm, so the size may vary slightly. Because these hats are crafted by hand rather than machine-made, it’s normal that they won’t all have identical measurements. We allow for an approximate margin of 1 cm.

Additionally, our brims are not sewn, which makes it more challenging to ensure perfect uniformity, unlike other finishes that can be “graded” with machines during the cutting and folding process.

𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:

We currently collaborate with over 1,400 artisans, each preparing their dyes based on traditional methods. This, combined with the fact that straw is a natural fiber, means that color variations are to be expected, and exact uniformity cannot be guaranteed. We truly appreciate your understanding and support of our handmade process, which helps preserve the heritage of Ecuadorian craftsmanship.

𝗗𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 W𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴: The hat is a living handmade product, and its
manufacturing process involves not only a weaver but also some family
members. Thus, each weave is a kind of language that tells the experience of
generations, which means that not all weaving patterns look alike, and
therefore, it cannot be expected that the weaving will be uniform. The fine
quality of the weaving is related to another aspect, so it cannot be expected
that the closed knots and woven straw will look exactly the same throughout.

𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Each country is governed by its internal regulations, so if
the hat boxes are handled by customs agents and the hats are not properly
repacked, Ecua-Andino will not be held responsible.

𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗺 𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘁 𝗛𝗮𝘁𝘀: This is part of the model and never a defect.
Moreover, no extra product is added to keep the brim rigid, as with other
models like the X fresh.
