Despite the name, Panama hats have never been made in Panama. They are entirely Ecuadorian — born on the western coast of Ecuador, where toquilla palm grows in a uniquely ideal climate: salt air from the Pacific meeting equatorial sunshine. For centuries, artisans in towns like Montecristi and Cuenca have woven these hats by hand, passing the craft down through generations. The name is a historical accident.
Every Ecua-Andino hat begins in the same place: a young toquilla palm shoot, harvested before the leaves have opened. What follows is an entirely manual process — no machines, no shortcuts.
Our classic standard hat is handwoven in Ecuador over a period of 8 hours.

All our Classic hats have a brim size of aprox 6cm-7cm. Please remember that our hats are handmade, so the size can change a little bit.
Slight variations in color or pattern may occur due to the nature of the handmade acetate production. Each piece may exhibit unique color and pattern characteristics, making each accessory one-of-a-kind.
Time
Estimate time to prepare an order is from 1-2 weeks approximately, this depends on the availability of the selected product. Standard delivery time is 5 to 10 business days.
